The Ka $2.99 California archaeology student Chione Ini-Herit has vivid dreams about the discovery of an opulent tomb. After learning that Chione's dreams are playing out in Egypt, the founder of the California Institute of Archaeology accepts an offer to examine a mysterious site in Valley of the Queens. When they discover a tomb, things begin to unravel. Magical spells encoded into the hieroglyphs on the tomb's walls transport Chione and her former boyfriend fellow archaeologist Aaron Ashby back 3,500 years to ancient Egypt. Even stranger, Aaron and Chione begin to morph into Tutankhamon and Tauret, a priestess in Pharaoh's Court, after learning that Tauret coded the magical spells into the hieroglyphs to keep her and Pharaoh irrevocably joined in the afterlife. When other team members speak the spells aloud, they, too, are affected in unfathomable ways by the Ka the spirit of the entombed person. Chione and Aaron learn that Tauret has conjured powerful spells to provide Tutankhamon with a living heir, and Tauret has chosen Chione and Aaron to complete her destiny. |
UK Flights To Greece
Greece climate which is a blend of hot and sunny, and its early history and culture, has made it a popular tourist travel destination.
Flights from the UK to Greece are available with a variety of carriers. The largest airport in Greece is in Athens, Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport (airport code: ATH), though Thessaloniki (Makedonia International), in the north, also has flights from the UK direct. The national airline of Greece is Olympic Airlines who you can fly with direct from Heathrow to Athens or Thessaloniki, or choose British Airways. Fares are very reasonably priced.
The major charter flights that go to Greek Islands from UK, directly overlooking the mainland Greece, however, Monarch operates flights to Preveza / Lefkas on the west coastal regions and the budget airline of Easyjet operates flights to Athens as well as Thessaloniki.
Thessaloniki is the region’s largest city and the country’s second largest. The city allows you to explore its history which is 3000 year old. You can also head for the 300 miles of pristine beaches located on the Halkidiki Peninsula, and the Mount Olympus coast, and numerous archaeological locations.
The city itself reflects its varied cultural past and includes many Byzantine churches and monuments, some of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites, as well as architecture from the Ottoman period and from a formerly dominant Jewish population.
The White Tower is a 16th century fortified tower. Inside is now the Museum of Byzantine Cultures, though you can also climb the tower for great views of the surrounding area. The Upper Town or ‘Ano Poli’ features pretty cobbled streets, and traditional old houses, whilst the Byzantine Churches vary in age from the 5th to the 14th century.
Mount Olympus is the highest mountain in the country. It also has a National Park. This was not chiefly urbanized for the visitors although in order to uphold the area, and hence to get to the top of the mountain, the best way is trekking.
Greece experiences a Mediterranean weather, along its coast, which includes Athens. Usually, from April to November, you are sure to experience hot and dry climate. The rainy season of Athens is between mid of October, to the mid of April. The average high temperature in July is around 33.5C (92F) whereas January is coolest month when the average temperature is 5.2C (41F).

Heaven for the Ears,
If you can’t appreciate the whole CD–go buy the soundtrack for Meet Joe Black! If you enjoy IZ, you’ll like both versions of Somewhere Over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World. By the way, the Meet Joe Black version can be found on the Facing Future CD.

Not the version I was looking for.,
This is a great album by IZ, however was looking for the version of “Somewhere Over The Rainbow/What A Wonderful World” that I heard on a tv toy commercial. The CD “Facing Future” is the one with the correct version.

The reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars…,
is only because of the sound quality. This early CD was before Israel signed with Mountain Apple Company and the recording quality isn’t quite as good as his later CDs. Having said that, the music is great. For an Iz fan it’s a must-have. It’s the only recording on CD of Men Who Ride Mountains and I love his version of You Don’t Know Me. Again, a must-have. Look for the video, Island Music Island Hearts – The Man and His Music. It’s the only video, produced after his passing, and it gives you the sense of this man’s immense love for people and their love for him.
